Not My President 2 (Sadly, part of an ongoing series)
Barack Obama, making his first visit to a Muslim nation as president, declared Monday the United States "is not and will never be at war with Islam." ... "Let me say this as clearly as I can," Obama said. "The United States is not and never will be at war with Islam. In fact, our partnership with the Muslim world is critical ... in rolling back a fringe ideology that people of all faiths reject." ... "America's relationship with the Muslim world cannot and will not be based on opposition to al Qaida," he said. "We seek broad engagement based upon mutual interests and mutual respect." ... "We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over so many centuries to shape the world for the better, including my own country," Obama said.

What is ironic about the above? Jimmy Carter, former President, on-going treasonous bastard and traitor, felt much the same way. To his defense, I believe he actually felt he was approaching Arabs, Iranians, Palestinians, and islamists with Christan charity, and at least a partially open heart. (That this kind of thinking was woefully naive is understood and acknowledged by myself.) I
Obama, on the other hand, has no excuse. He not only has the benefit of history (See Carter, above) to go on, he has the wealth of information freely available on the civilized worlds dealings with all flavors of islamists. History shows there are only matters of degrees with islam, in separation between the supposed "moderate", and the so called "radical" sects.
Which leaves only to ways to take what Obama has said:
1. He is a tool.
2. He knows exactly what he is doing. Whether or not it is his own game plan, or part of a larger design, he is willfully leading this country into a diplomatic position of weakness. (Or at best, an appearance of weakness. Not much better that.) And cares not one wit for what happens to this nation or its peoples. In other words, this is do with full volition/maliciousness on Obama's part. If not in violation of the law, he is most certainly in violation of the spirit. That being one does not actively engage in conciliatory talk with those who are considered (if not the direct enemy, at least agents for same.) to be at direct odds with this country and our civilization at large.
Yes, Turkey is an ally. Had he restricted his public pronouncements to those points which we share in common or are in agreement on, that would be one thing. But he didn't do this. And quite possibly he even helped in destabilizing the Turkish government as well. (Or at least gave a push for the Turkish military to cease power/stay in power for a greater length of time.) No, he went and kissed islamic butt. Thanks asshat.
The barbarians don't have to use a battering ram to break the gate down, our own court jester willingly opens it for them.
I hear Ace Hardware is having a spring sale on pitchforks. Think I need to head on over there post haste.

The world is changing Dick, and fast. We cannot stop the changes. The best we can hope for is to temper the changes with the wisdom and pain gained from our age and experience. You are doing a good job, but, like myself, are quickly becoming a relic of another age.

Michael Savage on his show asked what Muslims/Islam has done for America in our lifetime?
Predictably, no callers were able to provide an answer.
Barack Obama's full-circle appreciation for the Muslim world began with his Muslim faith as a child, then the nurturing in Rev. Wright's pews (a contemporary of Louis Farrakhan) and ultimately ends with a sitting American President bowing before a Saudi King (Abdullah).
Question is: Where does it lead from here?

The only thing Muslims can lay claim to in shaping this country is 9/11.

Redbone, I tossed this bit of rantage out there, thanks to Dick's good graces. Though I tend to believe he probably feels much the same.
And rest assured Dick and I do not see eye to eye across the board. For example, come next Army-Navy game, we will be sitting across the field from each other. *Note to self* if at all possible, that would make for an interesting live blogging/drinkfest. Even though we KNOW who the eventual winner will be. (Hey there squid, toss Gauntlets much do ya??? No, why do you ask? *grin*)
